For this project I designed the WAMP Globe Tee and Globe Cap, the second design run for Wamp's merch line. Inspired by streetwear's use of global iconography, these pieces were created to resonate with young adults in their 20s to 40s immersed in art, DJ, skateboard, and music culture. The goal was to design a graphic that communicates unity and planetary identity while remaining wearable and versatile for everyday use.
The challenge was designing a globe graphic that felt authentic while standing out in a crowded space of earth imagery. I started researching existing globe graphics in streetwear, which led me to discover various map projections like Robinson, Goode Homolosine, and Wagner VI,
each with unique visual properties. This deepened my appreciation for the craft behind map projections.
My design approach focused on creating a clean sphere with the WAMP wordmark warped around it using the WAMP Font. After multiple sketches and variations exploring different type treatments and globe positions, I refined my design. The process taught me how to apply a design system across multiple garments and products while maintaining versatility and consistency.
